ACCA Papers and Exemption
Passing the examinations is the most critical requirement. The qualification consists of thirteen papers covering fundamental and advanced accounting concepts, as well as practical financial management skills.
The thirteen papers are divided into three levels:
- Applied Knowledge – 3 papers
- Applied Skills – 6 papers
- Strategic Professional – 4 papers
In addition to passing the examinations, candidates must complete three years of relevant practical work experience in areas such as accounting, finance, taxation, and auditing. This experience may be obtained before, during, or after completing the examinations. However, completing the examinations can significantly enhance employment prospects and enable candidates to secure relevant job opportunities more quickly.
Candidates are also required to demonstrate competence across nine performance objectives, covering key areas such as financial management, risk management, and professional ethics. These competencies can be developed through internships, part-time positions, or full-time roles within finance and accounting functions.
Another essential requirement is the Ethics and Professional Skills Module (EPSM), which is designed to strengthen communication, leadership, problem-solving, and ethical decision-making skills, ensuring candidates are well prepared for professional responsibilities.
